Meet the team:

Martin Bacon- Director

BPharm (Hons), MRPharmS, GPhC 2036285

Martin is Director and lead trainer at AIT Medihelp, where he develops courses, actively trains care staff, provides auditing services and ongoing medicines management advice to a wide range of clients.

Martin has been a pharmacist for over 30 years with a long career with Boots the Chemist where he had a diverse range of roles from management, team development, coaching and mentoring, training and specialising in care home support services.

Martin enjoys nature, rugby, country walks with office-dog, and spending time with his family.

Martin’s favourite biscuit is a pint of “Proper Job”.

Alison Bacon- Director

Alison is a Director at AIT Medihelp, where she coordinates courses, liaises with clients and manages the day to day running of the business.

Alison is a former Civil Servant with a background in forms design and management, she has also worked as a teaching assistant, digital cartographer and an art & photography technician.

Alison loves art, photography, baking, going to the gym to work off the baking, walking office-dog in the countryside and spending time with her family.

Alison’s favourite biscuit is an oat and raisin cookie.

Sarah Sloman- Pharmacist Trainer

Sarah has been a pharmacist for over 30 years and has extensive knowledge & experience of the patient-facing side of pharmacy. As part of this role she has, for the last five years, given her professional support to residential and nursing homes on safe medicines management.

Sarah has worked for AIT Medihelp for over 10 years delivering accredited training and providing care sector support and advice.

Sarah loves holidays, spending time with friends and family and has a naked cat.

Sarah’s favourite biscuit ?….. She prefers cheese.

Melanie Reston- Pharmacist trainer

BPharm (Hons), MSc Clinical Pharmacy, GPhC 2036074

Melanie has over 30 years experience as a pharmacist in hospital, military, care home and GP surgery settings. Melanie focuses on communication, attention to detail and has a determination to improve patient and colleague’s experience with medication.

Melanie plays a variety of instruments, enjoys knitting, crochet and turning the fruits of her gardening into delicious things. Melanie has just relocated to Scotland where as well as expanding AIT’s reach, she hopes to see the northern lights and Nessie!

Melanie’s favourite biscuit is a ginger nut as it doesn’t disintegrate when dunked into hot coffee.

Edwin Panford-Quainoo- Pharmacist Trainer

BSc (Hons) Pharmacy, DipClinPharm, MPH, CPhOGH Fellow, GPhC 2050593

Edwin has many years’ experience across multiple pharmacy sectors including community, hospital and industry. He is a Chief Pharmaceutical Officer’s Global Health Fellow who has worked as a pharmacist in Australia, Ghana as well as the UK.

Edwin holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, Master of Public Health and is currently undertaking his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Global Health at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, where he is also part of the teaching staff on the MSc Global Health Programme. His research area for his PhD is exploring the responsible use of antibiotics. All this combined with his previous role of delivering medication handling in care homes make Edwin an asset to the AIT team.

When he throws off his suit and tie and lets his hair down (he has very little of that left!) Edwin is an award-winning DJ, something he has been doing even before his Pharmacy career started.

Edwin’s favourite biscuit is a tough one, and today it is lemon drizzle cake!

Elle Godderidge

Elle Godderidge- Marketing & Admin

Elle has worked in retail and hospitality for the last 12 years. When the pandemic hit she decided it was time for a change and began studying marketing. Elle only joined AIT recently but is enjoying every minute of it and is keen to apply her skills to the business.

Elle enjoys going to the gym, meeting up with friends and spending time with her new family and 3 mad cats!

Elle’s favourite biscuit is a chocolate hobnob.

Katie Webber

Katie Webber- Specialist Medication Audit Pharmacist

Katie has recently joined AIT and has worked in community pharmacy for over 30 years. A long career with Boots The Chemists provided many opportunities including roles in management, training and communication, and for the last 10 years she has worked in care services providing advice on the safe management of medication through structured visits.

Katie likes cooking and trying new recipes on her family and friends. She has recently taken an interest in upcycling and enjoys visiting second hand shops. Katie loves running and in 2021 completed her first and last marathon!

Favourite biscuit(s) are custard creams and chocolate digestives.

Passed puppy class with flying colours

Office dog is a general assistant at AIT Medihelp where she specialises in loafing around, barking at the postman and having cuddles. She loves country walks, shouting at squirrels, playing tug of war and chasing her ball.

Her favourite biscuit is…well anything she can get really!
