Martin Bacon- Director & Lead Pharmacist Trainer

Martin is Director and lead trainer at AIT Medihelp.

He develops and delivers medication training, provides medication audits and supports care providers with medicines management advice and consultancy.

A registered pharmacist with more than 30 years’ experience, Martin has worked across pharmacy management, training, staff development and care-home support services. His extensive practical experience helps him bring real-life examples and medicines-management challenges into AIT Medihelp’s training.

Outside work, Martin enjoys rugby, nature, country walks with the office dogs and spending time with his family. His favourite “biscuit” is apparently a pint of Proper Job.

Alison Bacon- Director

Alison is a Director at AIT Medihelp and manages much of the organisation behind the training business, including client enquiries, course coordination, administration, tenders and day-to-day operations.

Her previous experience includes the Civil Service, education, digital cartography, art and photography, bringing a broad mix of organisational, communication and creative skills to the business.

Outside work, Alison enjoys art, photography, baking, the gym, country walks and spending time with family.

Alison’s favourite biscuit is an oat and raisin cookie.

Sarah Sloman- Pharmacist Trainer

Sarah is an experienced pharmacist trainer with more than 30 years’ pharmacy experience. Her career has included extensive patient-facing work and professional support to residential and nursing homes on safe medicines management.

She has worked with AIT Medihelp for many years, delivering medication training and providing care-sector advice and support.

Outside work, Sarah enjoys holidays and spending time with friends and family – and her favourite biscuit? She prefers cheese.

Melanie Reston- Pharmacist trainer

BPharm (Hons), MSc Clinical Pharmacy, GPhC 2036074

Melanie is an experienced pharmacist with more than 30 years’ experience across hospital, military, care-home and GP practice settings. She brings a strong focus on communication, accuracy and improving medicines practice.

Now based in Scotland, Melanie helps extend AIT Medihelp’s training and support across the country.

Outside pharmacy, she enjoys music, knitting, crochet and gardening — and considers the ginger nut an ideal biscuit for dunking.

Edwin Panford-Quainoo- Pharmacist Trainer

Edwin is an experienced pharmacist, global health specialist, educator and researcher with more than 25 years’ experience across community pharmacy, hospital practice, the pharmaceutical industry, academia and international health. He has practised pharmacy in the UK, Ghana and Australia.

Training has been a consistent part of Edwin’s career. With AIT Medihelp, he specialises in training care home and social care staff in the safe handling and use of medicines, using his extensive pharmacy experience to make medicines knowledge practical, relevant and accessible. His commitment to education was recognised in 2005 when he was named Trainer of the Year by his then employer.

Edwin has particular expertise in antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial stewardship and has worked on international programmes supporting the responsible use of medicines and the development of healthcare professionals.

He holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Liverpool and a PhD from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. His doctoral research explored antimicrobial use and stewardship in community settings in Ghana.

Edwin is also a Global Health Fellow, a Member by Distinction of the Faculty of Public Health (MFPH), and a Bye-Fellow of Wolfson College, University of Cambridge.

Outside work, Edwin is also an award-winning DJ – something he has been doing since before his pharmacy career began.

Favourite biscuit? Apparently even a PhD cannot answer that one. Cake remains the front-runner!

Elle Godderidge- Marketing & Admin

Elle supports AIT Medihelp with marketing and administration, helping us communicate with clients and maintain our online presence. Her background includes retail and hospitality, alongside marketing studies and practical experience in social media.

Outside work, Elle enjoys the gym, spending time with friends and family, and looking after her three cats. Her favourite biscuit is a chocolate Hobnob.

Katie Webber- Pharmacist Trainer

Katie is a pharmacist trainer and medication-audit specialist with more than 30 years’ experience in community pharmacy. Her career has included management, training, communication and extensive work supporting care services with safe medicines management.

Her practical experience in reviewing medication systems and advising care providers makes her particularly valuable in AIT Medihelp’s audit and consultancy work.

Outside work, Katie enjoys cooking, upcycling, second-hand shopping and running. Having completed a marathon in 2021, she has apparently decided one was enough.

Favourite biscuits: custard creams and chocolate digestives.

Bonnie

Passed puppy class with flying colours

Bonnie is a general assistant at AIT Medihelp where she specialises in loafing around, barking at the postman and pigeons. She loves country walks, shouting at squirrels, playing tug of war and chasing her ball. She loathes sharing the sofa with Coco and tells her off frequently.

Her favourite biscuit is…well anything she can get really!

Best cuddles

Coco loves everything, especially long walks where she can investigate the local wildlife. She is particularly fond of Bonnie and enjoys trying to share the sofa with her despite Bonnie’s protests. She also still considers herself a puppy, despite her size, and cannot fathom why she doesn’t still fit on a lap.
