Interactive Competency Assessment

Interactive Competency Assessment - £24.00

  • Certification: Assessing Competency with Medicines 2024 - 1 year

NICE guidance for care homes (SC1), community settings (NG67) and the CQC state requirements for staff to have an annual update of knowledge, skills and competencies to safely administer medicines.
Direct observation of staff can be supported by “indirect” methods such as this online module, thereby saving managers some time.
This course is intended to test a learner’s competence with medication administration using 3 different types of interactive exercises.
It is intended for any person who administers medication. Suitable for new staff following “Foundation” medication training or experienced staff requiring a refresher.
Overview
This online module assesses a person’s competency with the “6 Rights” of administration by testing their skills of observation and vigilance with medicines.
The learner has three different types of interactive exercises to complete:
1. Accurately listing medicines after a prescriber has changed some
2. Correctly transcribing these medicines onto a medication record (MAR)
3. Check a variety of different medicines and their corresponding MAR charts. Then state if they would administer, or if not what is wrong with it.
On successful completion a certificate is issued, valid for one year.
